Spicy Beef Burger Recipe

Spicy Beef Burgers

Ingredients
  

  • 2 small red onions, sliced
  • 7-8 tbsp olive oil
  • 500 grams Beef mince You can use mutton, lamb or chicken alternatively
  • 1 tsp salt to taste
  • 3/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp harissa powder
  • 2 tbsp fresh coriander, finely chopped
  • 1 egg, whisked
  • 2 green chillies, finely chopped or 1 tsp red chilli flakes- both are optional

Toppings

  • 1 red onion, sliced optional

Instructions
 

  • Add all the ingredients, except the onions and oil into a bowl and mix through. Let this marinate at least for two hours or ideally overnight.

  • In a frying pan, add 2 tbsps of the oil and heat. Fry the red onions until they are softened. (If wanting a red onion topping, fry at this point)

  • Then add the softened onions to the beef mince mixture and mix through. (Reserve some of the red onions for topping the burgers if you have cooked 3 onions here)

  • Next make up your burger patties. I like to make them and lay them out on a chopping board ready to cook. You should be able to make 10 patties in total.

  • Heat 2-3 tbsp of the oil and fry the burgers in a frying pan (or griddle pan) and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side of the burger.

  • Add the burger into your burger buns, top with cheese, the additional red onions and tomato and chutney and serve!

  1. I use a burger patty press maker to make my burgers, they come out perfectly circular and look professional and not kebab like.
